Goodwill South Texas Believes in Circle of Hope
Goodwill South Texas is continuing the Circle of Hope. What this means is the way in which Goodwill Industries uses it’s donations. By receiving donations from the local community, they are then able to employ people to fix up and sell these items. Revenue made in this resale goes towards paying employees and also put towards funding Goodwill’s famous job training and placement initiatives. This is the Circle of Hope. Items donated by the local community is used to help people in that community, turning them into self-sufficient, productive members of society.
The Circle of Hope is really a wonderful thing when you stop and think about it. The problem is that this can only work if people in the community continue to contribute to the cycle. In today’s hectic lifestyle people rarely stop to consider the needs of other people. However, Goodwill Industries has thrived thanks to this system, relying on donations from people to help other people. If you have never donated before, you are not doing your part to help complete the Circle of Hope.
As well as just donating clothes and furniture, Goodwill Industries’ Circle of Hope also depends on larger donations, such as car donations. If you have an old car rusting on your driveway or in your garage, before you sell it or give it away to someone else, think about how it could benefit others in the community through the Circle of Hope. A single car donation will go a long way towards allowing Goodwill Industries to do what they do best – helping people in your community become self-sufficient.
