The Bon-Ton Stores held their semi-annual Goodwill Sale Event last month when customers and associates of the The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. donated 5.2 million pieces of gently used clothing as well as home textile items. Donations were received at 279 stores. As they do when people donate a car to charity, Goodwill sells the donations in the communities where they were collected . Revenues from the sale of donated items, like the auto donations, will go to fund the job training programs Goodwill offers people in the community to help them achieve economic stability. Goodwill expects that the donations will generate $12-15 million in revenues and they are proud to let people know that eighty-four percent of those revenues are put into employment services for people who have disabilities or disadvantages, such as lack of education or job experience.
