Analyzing Analytics (What is Google Analytics?)
Optimization is a huge part of digital marketing, and a huge part of doing anything successfully online. In order to optimize something you need to know what parts of it are and are not working. Google has an array of tools that can help you become successful via the internet, one of those tools is Google analytics. This is a way for you to track clicks and conversions on your offers, calls to action, and other similar aspects of sales and marketing you may be using on your website. Being able to track these things so thoroughly allows you to optimize; you can see, in real numbers, exactly what people like and don’??t like.
This service is exceptionally beneficial to those who run businesses or companies that have a strong online presence. If you’re using lead magnets or CTA’s to bring in new leads or a sales funnel to drive web traffic closer to purchasing a product or service from you, then Google Analytics is exactly what you need to monitor how successful you are at these tasks. Different people respond differently to different things. There are an array of factors that go into whether or not a person clicks on something, fills out a form, or downloads content. You can figure these things out much easier using Google analytics than you would on your own.
Analytics is a paid service that anyone can use. It’s an investment rather than an expense. Business owners who do a lot of online marketing have reported that they gain 50% more new customers when they’re able to optimize due to Google Analytics results versus when they simply would try and guess what was working and what wasn’t. Optimization is much more strategic with a service like this, and that goes along perfectly with the entire idea of digital marketing: Optimizing a company’s web presence with strategic tools.
Using Google Analytics
Once you have an account learning to use Analytics is easy. Google has tutorials and guides that will teach you how best to utilize their service. A lot of it is entering information about what you want to track. Different parts of the service will track different aspects of your lead magnet, CTA, offer, or sales funnel. The hope is that the information you gain is enough for you to determine how effective your strategies are. How many clicks you get, how many conversions you have, etc. Once information is submitted you will get a html code that you will put in the coding area of whatever it is you’re trying to track. Once the code is embedded Google Analytics does the rest. That code will track what goes on and report it back to your account for you to look at later.
Using this information is important. It’s one of the most accurate ways to test how effective a digital marketing strategy is. Once you can conclusively determine what parts of a campaign are working or not working you can begin to optimize; change or get rid of things that aren’t working while keeping or strengthening things that are. Doing this will lead to more leads, conversions, new customers, and eventually more revenue. This is why a service like this is an investment rather than an expense; you make your money back after you use the results for optimization.
