Buffer Sites: The Secret to Optimizing Your Inbound Marketing Funnel

So you are using an inbound marketing funnel strategy… welcome to the future and get ready to experience consistent and measurable ROI!

Your team and upper management has surely spent time creating funnel goals and mapping out your path to success. Marketing funnel goals are important, but know that your strategy is only as strong as your search engine optimization. There is a secret to enhancing your SEO and improving your online marketing funnel that you might not know about.

How Buffer Sites Benefit Your Inbound Marketing Funnel Strategy

Here are the Top 5 Reasons buffer sites can kickstart your inbound marketing funnel strategy and offer your team priceless insights about your buyer’s journey.

Why this Secret Matters

Consumers and business owners alike are spending more time on the web than ever before. Their entry into your marketing funnel depends on one critical step: clicking on a link to your website. How can you ensure that a stressed white collar worker will find your Tahiti vacation packages online, or that the creative school teacher will land on your customized pencil site? Word of mouth is the most credible form of marketing out there, but with over 3 billion people on the web, how can you make sure that they find your website when the moment is right? THIS is why you need an ace in the hole. THIS is why you need the know-how to get your website to the upper echelon of a search engine query.

The Secret

Enter the hero, the champion of your sales and marketing departments, the expounder of your inbound marketing funnel strategy and tactics. Enter: BUFFER SITES!

Google_Spider

Why Buffer Sites Work

When Google’s spider crawls web pages, it searches many things. It checks for natural uses of keywords and keyword synonyms, it checks congruence between the title, headers, alt tags and links, and it penalizes any keyword padding (repetition of keywords for intentional ranking improving). The integral factor for Buffer Site success that the Google spider tracks is the number of inbound links. A large number of links to your homepage will contribute to its superior search engine rank. This “social credibility” can be achieved through including links to your blogs and other web pages in social media. However, if an external website, such as a blog, were to link to your webpages, it would create a stronger level of credibility. An external source linking to your web pages indicates thought leadership, and merits a higher rank from search engines.

How to Make Buffer Sites Work

You first need to create an external blog site (the buffer site) with no explicit relationship to your main website. It is important to note that the first 5 blogs posted to your buffer site cannot contain any links, but why? The Google spider is powered by an algorithm that has been developed and refined over years of trial and error, and can recognize when a newly created site serves only to artificially contribute inbound links to your main site. In order to avoid penalization for this “link padding”, you need to create true, original content for this blog. The blog posts to your buffer blog should be similar to a blog that you might publish to your main web page. It must appear legitimate in the respect that it must have keyword congruence in the title, header, alt tags, links, and body. The buffer blog posts differ in that they do not need to be written in a business manner, and the level of language can be substantially lower. The sole intention of these blog posts are to contribute links to your main site while simultaneously ducking under the radar of the Google Spider.

The Result

If done as prescribed above, these added inbound links will boost your search engine ranking, and your organic traffic will increase in turn. This increase in traffic may not increase the conversions of your inbound marketing funnel strategy and campaigns, but the sheer volume of visitors added to your funnel will improve the total generation of customers for your firm. Get blogging.
